Hi, my name is Jeroen and I'm a full stack developer.

Currently I'm working most of my time on the front end side of things, mainly using JavaScript and using ExtJS as the main framework during this project. Below you will find my online resume and at the bottom of the page you will find a way to contact me or get a PDF of my resume.

Responsive imageWeb Developer at NYC FISA

(August 2014 - Present)
  • Maintaining and upgrading Citytime, a time registration and payroll system that's being used by government employees in the city. Citytime is the largest city government payroll system in the world and has 160 000 active users.
  • Upgrading the software frameworks that are being used to be supported by newer browsers. (>IE8, Chrome, FireFox etc.). In particular upgrading ExtJS from version 2.0 to version 4.2.3.
  • Redesigning old screens that were build in a custom framework and replacing it with ExtJS while trying to maintain most of the backend functionalities.
  • Testing existing screens and modules with the newest browsers and fixing both functional and design problems.

Front End Team Lead

(February 2015 - Present)
  • Managing and building the front end development team to a core team of 5+ people.
  • Creating the project plan for the team and assigning work to each member based on their specific strength or knowledge.
  • Tracking projects to make sure deadlines will be met.
  • Set,lead and participate in meetings across various teams, from DEV, QA all the way to the business users themselves.

(August 2013 - August 2014)
  • Develop and enhance the Prime Finance Portal capabilities and work closely with local business users and business analysts to translate business requirements for the off-shore team.
  • Back-end application/service development (Java).
  • Support for Production and UAT Portals during NAM/EMEA hours.
  • Provide Testing, Integration and Development SME to NAM/EMEA developers.
  • Support and development work on Prime Finance Platform items –App Servers, non-Production monitoring, NoSQL data stores.
  • Development on an automated testing system using Selenium to get feedback on how stable and fast the Portal runs at any given time/day.
  • Work on back and front-end for new client attestation screens using ExtJS4.2 and Spring where a client admin can review and change the entitlements on the Portal. This project also included creating a customized Citi-theme to be used in ExtJS.
  • Improving access and retrieval of refdata by setting up a MongoDB and saving and retrieving data from this database that is used often. This improved the speed for some Portal screens.
  • Adapting to new technologies being used for upcoming new projects like learning and working with ExtJS on the job.

  • Used IBM EGL to generate Java code from existing COBOL code

  • Research five main open source ERP systems available in both Windows and Ubuntu and compare them by their main functionality
  • Write an extensive report comparing all of the systems and providing the university with a prefered system to use.

Various Academic Projects

  • Created a hotel booking simulation program in Java. The main focus on this project was to support heavily on design patterns. This project used J2EE, Java Beans, SOA and web services.
  • Creating an own card game in Java by using the visual possibilities that Java has to offer. XML was also used to store certain data.
  • Used Java (PHP and Javascript) to create a program as well as an Android application. The program scanned music album covers and download songs to the mobile device. This application was later upgraded work on a multi-touch table.
  • Created an application for personalization of user-accounts by using C#. Used SQL to store and read data on an Oracle database.
  • Created a corporate website using PHP, CSS and HTML according to the W3C standards.
  • Used Action script and Flash to create an own mini computer game. The game was an adventure focused on leaving an apartment after being locked up.
  • Collaborated on creation of a social network site mockup to allow users to share and recommend research papers to each other.
